UAE Ranks 1st Regionally, 15th Globally In UN Human Development Index – UAE Today Blog

The United Arab Emirates have maintained their leadership position among countries with “very high human development” that rises 11 points worldwide in the Human Development Index of 2025 (HDI) issued by the United Nations Program (UNDP), compared to its 2021-2022 classification.

The United Arab Emirates occupied the 15th position worldwide in 193 countries covered by the report, surpassing the nations, including Canada, the United States, Japan, Australia and Korea. It remains the only Arab country in the Top 20, a distinction that reflects its commitment to an integral vision of development that prioritizes human well -being. The country’s approach integrates medical care, education and quality of life, positioning it as a global model for sustainability and development of human capital.

The 2025 Human Development Report “a matter of choice: people and possibilities in the era of artificial intelligence (AI)”, gave the EAU an HDI or 0.94 score.

According to the four main indicators: life expectancy at birth in the EAU reached 82.9 years, aligned with the objective of sustainable development (SDG) 3 on “good health and well -being”; The expected years of schooling were 15.6 and years of schooling at age 13, supporting SGD 4 in quality education. Gross national income per capita reached $ 71,142, contributing to SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth.

Abdulrahman Bin Mohamed al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, said that the main position of the EAU reflects their sustained investment in a world -class health system that promotes innovation and guarantees high quality services, antermous trimesters, a high eternal, a high quality sub -subterses and a future aign, AIGned and Terdes sustainable.

Sara Bint Yousef al Amiri, Minister of Education, emphasized that education has always been fundamental for the development strategy of the EAU. He highlighted the adoption of adaptive and prospective educational policies designed to prepare future generations of competitiveness and innovation, partly in fields such as artificial intelligence.

Hanan Mansour Ahli, managing director of the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics, said that the EAU -centered development model, focused on health, medical care, education and innovation as pillars for a prosperous and inclusive future. She said that the country’s increase in HDI classifications demonstrates a proactive and prepared policies for the future that prioritizes human well -being throughout economic growth.

The report stressed the growing impact of AI on human development, the warning of driving gaps between high and low development countries and requested flexible and humans focused on medical care, education and the standard of living. It was emphasized that human capital remains key in the digital age.

The EAU also occupied the third place worldwide in the net migration of qualified professionals of AI in 2023, based on the fact that LinkedIdinscan data would be attractive as a global center for the talent of AI.

The report indicated that high -income countries such as EAU are net beneficiaries of specialized talent, while low -income nations face. He asked for a cooperative digital economy where humans and AI work together, with an approach to empower people through knowledge and technology for inclusive and sustainable growth.
