UAE cracks down on money-laundering and terrorism financing with Dubai Land Department deal

The agreements aim to strengthen national efforts in the development of regulatory infrastructure, improve integrity and transparency systems, and improve mechanisms to combat financial crimes in accordance with international best practices.

The MOU is also facilitates the exchange of data and information, while supporting the supervision role of the Ministry under the relevant national legislation.

The initiative is part of the continuous efforts to strengthen institutional integration and associations to improve monitoring and compliance systems and facilitate the exchange of data between the signatories, in support of their shared objectives to counteract financial crimes in the EAU.

The Mou establishes clearly defined frames for technical cooperation, the development of capacities and knowledge exchange, as well as safe mechanisms to share data that guarantee confidentiality and compliance with the relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.

The representatives of the signatory entities affirmed the importance of improving national efforts to address the challenges of money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons, through sustainable and institutional approval.

They emphasize that such efforts support the preparation of the EAU for the next mutual evaluation, help guarantee high levels of legislative and regulatory compliance and improve efficiencies to address cross -border financial crimes.

These measures also contribute to sustainable economic growth and improve the country’s classification in global competitiveness indices.

The representatives reiterated their full commitment to support initiatives that protect the national economy and strengthen financial security.

The signature ceremony was hero outside the “role of the sector of companies and non -financial professions designed (DNFBPS) in the combination of financial crimes”, which recently took place in Dubai.

ABDULLAH BIN TOUQ, Minister or Economy attended; Abdullah Bin Sultan Bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister or Justice; and Ahmed al Sayegh, Minister of State.

The Mous were signed by Abdullah Ahmed al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy; Safeya Hashem Al Safi, Assistant Secretary of the Control and Commercial Governance sector; Faisal Yousef Bin Selaitin, CEO of the Dubai Economic Security Center; And Majid Saqr al Marri, CEO of the Real Estate Registry sector in the Dubai Land Department, along with other government officials.
